About Rhino Lining
Rhino TUFF STUFF is a two-component, 100% solids (no VOCs, no solvents), exothermic, rapid curing, elastomeric polyurethane lining system. Used as a 3mm DFT (Dry Film Thickness) protection system for locking assemblies, it offers a superior barrier to corrosion over standard painting systems and locking cover systems.
The Rhino Tuff Stuff is applied by certified and qualified applicators to the face of the pulley end discs and over the locking assemblies to the pulley shaft. The Tuff Stuff superior coating spray sets in seconds and is touch dry in 60 seconds with either a textured or smooth surface finish.
Benefits & Properties
The Elastomeric properties allow for application to surface subject to vibration, expansion, contraction, movement, flexing, abrasion and impact which is perfect for protecting the locking assemblies against corrosion and damage.
Conveyor pulleys are subjected to intense high pressure water wash down and material build up in operation. Rhino Tuff Stuff prevents against ingress of water, moisture and contaminates by forming an impenetrable protective barrier, capable of withstanding the toughest operational environments.
Further benefits of Rhino Tuff Stuff include:
- Excellent abrasion resistance
- Excellent bond adhesion to surface
- Excellent impact resistance
- Excellent corrosion resistance
- Excellent weather resistance
- Stable from –40C to 80C
- Visible locking assembly bolt head inspection, without removing covers
- Good Chemical resistance
- Lifetime warranty on all ring feder pulley protection
Testing
Rhino Tuff Stuff has undertaken a variety of tests including:
- Waterproof Membrane AS/NZ 4358:2004. Class III
- ISO 12944-6 Corrosion protection of steel for corrosivity Category C4 (strong) confirming long period of corrosion protection
- ISO15527 Slurry erosion testing provided conformation of outstanding abrasion resistance
- Flammability Test ASTM D635-98 (Modified), specimens self-extinguished
- Pilbara ports harshest conditions operating since 2017
Applications
Rhino Tuff Stuff has undertaken a variety of tests including:
- Bearing housings
- Couplings
- Pulley shafts, especially the bearing, locking assembly and coupling journals
- Gearboxes
- Pulley end discs & locking assemblies
- Bolt caps
- Virtually any spare components where corrosion is a risk
